Staying Healthy Is Your Best Shortcut to Financial Freedom

The three financially free people I know have one thing in common. They are damn good-looking. You can’t miss their fit physique, clear skin, and expressive eyes. You would want to take a photo with them. Financial freedom doesn’t begin with money. It goes hand in hand with mental and physical well-being.Ask someone wealthy about money and they’ll say financial freedom isn’t free. You sacrifice your comfort for the big goal. Be ready to get your physical and mental health challenged. Money isn’t hard. It’s a by-product of your values, views, and priorities. It’ll fall right into your lap when you put yourself on top of the list. Choosing a healthy lifestyle is how you do that. You’re alive as long as your body is alive.

I was forced to take care of my body in secondary school. As the weakest guy on the basketball team, I couldn’t run, jump, and shoot like my classmates. It sucked. My coach knew better than me I needed to put in extra effort. She warned me I’d continue to get pushed around if I didn’t start lifting weights. That did the trick. I became more athletic 6 months later by exercising at home. No fancy gym, no personal trainer. Just a few weights in my room and a ton of motivation. A small personal crisis is a blessing if you learn the lesson. I went from uncomfortable to comfortable. I’m still on the comfortable side 25 years later. But the comfort isn’t for free. My workouts take away my peace 5 times a week like a sly pickpocket.
