How Desire For Positive Experiences Is Bad For You




Popping up on my Facebook feed were those words followed by an image below indicating a time. It read 4:44:44 AM. This particular individual added me on Facebook recently and like a sucker for connections, I accepted it. The poster in question isn’t weird. They’r a fellow writer and we seem to be on the same wave length. I too woke up at 4 AM just the other day. I can relate to it. But beyond that I don’t understand the significance of 4 and why there’s such a big deal around this precise time. It’s up there on the whole 11:11 PM make a wish thing.In philosophy, the number four was used to determine if something was solid. It’s a symbol of wholeness and universality. Four, in tarot also symbolizes solidity and balance. Perhaps that’s what they were referring to with the whole four thing. But this is just someone waking up and they just so happen to be up and looking at the clock at this precise time. This is on top of reaching over and snapping a picture of said clock at that moment.But if I were a betting man, which I’m not that big of one, my new online acquaintance is more likely to have a pretty typical day. Maybe even a shorter one since waking up at close to 5 am isn’t that great for your health unless you’re getting to bed by 9 or 10 pm. There’s nothing wrong with that, but so often we look at those kinds of moments in our lives and think that these are these grand messages. That these are all positive vibes raining down on us and that we accept and that our lives are going to be so much better. I’m naturally an optimist when it comes to a lot of things. I want to believe that…
