Week One: Starting a Blog & Motivation
I’m not really sure how you found this blog- maybe, like me, you’re a teen writer looking for others to connect with, maybe this was an accident and you’re closing the tab as I speak. No matter what, thanks for reading this far…
Okay, now that most (if not all) of you have left, let me tell you why I decided (probably mistakenly) to start this blog… motivation. I’ve always loved writing since a young age, and over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to connect with an amazing community of young writers just like me. But, unlike some of them who have published entire novels for the world to read (seriously, how?), I’ve never been able to stick to a project, like, ever.
So, now, I’ve decided I’m going to try again, and attempt to bring an idea I’ve had in my head for quite a while into the world. And this blog is my way of keeping myself motivated, because motivation to continue has always been my biggest struggle. So, I figured that posting weekly updates might keep me motivated enough to continue to work. And look, frankly, it probably won’t, but who knows?
My goal for the month of October is to work out the characters, a setting and a basic plot outline- all culminating in my goal for November, which is to participate in the 2023 NaNoWriMo challenge. What is NaNoWriMo? Basically, it’s an annual challenge in which new and experienced writers try and write 50,000 words of a novel in a month’s time.
