Women Won’t Hold Equal Power With Men
Do you ever wonder why guys can rag on each other and friendships don’t end? I’m sure there are a few guys who do become upset and cut people off, but in most cases, they just laugh it off and continue their friendships. Do you ever wonder why women say, “It’s easier to be friends with guys than girls.”? That’s a red flag for a therapist, but it’s also a very sad statement in our society that I hear often. It’s a very true statement, men are easier to friend, and it’s a sad statement. Women have been socialized to keep each other down in very ferocious, passive-aggressive ways. The practice continues to this day. When I see it in young girls and adult women, it is a sadness that pervades every bone in my body.
I’m not saying that men don’t try and keep each other down at times. Men compete. They also don’t see the competition as anything bad or relationship-ending. There may be hurt feelings. But they also use it as a means to become stronger and do better in life. The strongest skill men have that our society of women has not embraced is their camaraderie and support of each other. In other words, women are not going to get the power if they don’t stop tearing each other down.
