Ukraine’s Path Forward After The Delay In American Aid


With these soon-to-be-famous words President Zelensky refused an American offer of evacuation from Kiev when the Russian invasion started in February, 2022.
Now we are within a few months of entering the second year of Putin’s two-day Russian Special Military Operation. Ukraine got the ammunition it needed.

Equally important, Ukraine found the heart it needed to carry on. As Zelensky framed his goals: “We are not putting down arms. We will be defending our country, because our weapon is truth, and our truth is that this is our land, our country, our children, and we will defend all of this.”

He was right to be so expansive: the stakes are life-or-death. Putin’s goal is the elimination of Ukraine from the global map. Anyone who thinks they are Ukrainian is labelled a ‘fascist’ and is turned over to the murder squads, like the soldiers who shot 400 civilians in Bucha a year ago.
