Day 1-Modified Dopamine Detox

AKA-I really miss soda, but I’m really glad the cat isn’t dead.So if you are just joining this adventure, you may want to go back and read this which explains what the heck I’m doing! So day 1 is in the books. Today was largely focused on work and teaching (Mondays and Wednesdays are my very long days), then meeting up with the family for dinner since my daughter had stayed with her Nana this weekend, and we had to retrieve her after two harrowing days of being utterly spoiled. After a quick stop at Michaels for clearance Halloween decor, I’m now settled into the evening. So let’s review!Media Consumed- All I listened to was music in the morning and during my commute, letting Google create a playlist that resulted in “theater kid with a rock and roll boyfriend.” I did finally get tired of it though and listened to a podcast on the way home. Still… calling this a win. Reading-check! Two articles from my backlog complete. Only SkillShare and Masterclass video content- I have to modify this one as I forgot Adobe Max starts tomorrow. But no video at all today so check!
Social Media-Even as a moderate social media person, I was shocked at how often checking my email almost led to opening either TikTok or Instagram. Key word here? Almost! Nailed this one! No Sweets-This is one I thought about way too much today, but I made it! I am not counting the Strawberry Lemonade at dinner though because lemonade is not a treat or a dessert. It is what you sadly drink when Red Robin’s iced tea tastes like metal and despair, and you gave up soda for the week.
