TODAY, IT’S FRIDAY THE 13TH

it’s Friday the 13th. You wake up, not on the wrong side of the. bed, not on the right either, you’re well… Centered. Centered around your to-do list is your day, and you can’t wait to tick a few boxes off of it. The first box to tick is not on the to-do list, it’s in your head. To get up or not to? To get up is human, to stay up, divine. That doesn’t ring true for you, it’s already 7:00am, so what the heck are you still doing thinking about going back to bed, bloody student of Hippocrates?!Hippocrates, what do you have for me? What’s the worst that could happen? It’s Friday the 13th and in case you didn’t know, it’s supposed to be an unlucky day. Friday the 13th usually occurs once a year, but this year, it occurs twice. Are you going to put in the effort to make things work or look forward to blaming your ill-luck on two Fridays in a year? Year in and out, the clock is ticking, and today, it’s approaching 5:00pm, the day is spent and so are you, famished and exhausted, running only on today’s fish and fried chicken macaroni. You are advised to take a bottle of coke to up your energy levels, not a drink of choice, but of chance.Chance and time, twins that do not discriminate. They happen to all humans, but do some people have better luck than others? Do some days come brighter than others? “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”
