I choose to be bored cz it’s a good thing.
However, there is value in choosing to be bored. When this happens, we give our brains a chance to rest and recharge. We also open ourselves up to new ideas and experiences that we may not have considered before.
When we have no idea what to do in a day, instead of using our phones, we will try something new that we haven’t done before. For me, it really works. I’m quitting the phone for a while, and my body directs me to do anything. I do deep cleaning, going back to my old hobby of playing Rubik’s cube, and I start my morning pages that I haven’t made before. So I tried something new while I wasn’t using my phone.
Choosing to be bored can also be a way to practice mindfulness and be present in the moment. When we are constantly scrolling through our phones or checking our social media, we are not fully present in our lives. By taking a break from these distractions and allowing ourselves to be bored, we can focus on the world around us and appreciate the beauty in the ordinary.
As I have mentioned before, social media plays a significant role in distracting our lives *if we just scroll with no aim; I’m taking a break from social media. I tried to deact my Instagram for about a month, and there are differences in my phone usage before and after taking a break from social media.
